For security reasons everyone must register with their real name. We have found that people are more honest and better behaved when they are using their real names, rather than hiding behind a nickname or alias.

While you should be concerned about revealing personal information, we keep those details only for registration and security purposes. We keep your mailing address and phone numbers top secret. We do NOT let this information out of our office. This protects ALL of our users.

Member Agreement

This agreement sets out, as between Ability Online Support Network (Ability Online) and you, the duties and responsibilities, and otherwise allocates the risks, associated with providing you with the Service through an individual account ("the Account"). Please read this agreement carefully before accessing the Service. By accessing the Service you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions. If you do not wish to be bound by these terms and conditions, you may not access or use the Service.

You agree to use the Service through an Account on the following terms and conditions:

1. Content May be Offensive and/or Inaccurate.

The Service allows members to communicate with each other. Be aware that members have communicated insulting and offensive and/or inaccurate and incorrect statements to other members. While Ability Online normally deletes such statements when notified, this may be too late to prevent individual harm. Ability Online cannot prevent such communications. Unless you agree that Ability Online is not responsible for the damages which result from such communications, Ability Online cannot make you a member.

2. Use Subject to Ability Online's Policies.

You shall ensure that only you access the Service through your Account. You agree to comply with such policies as Ability Online may provide notice of from time to time through the Service. Unless you agree that Ability Online is not responsible for the damages which result from your breach of such policies and that Ability Online may take such actions as Ability Online deems appropriate should you breach the policies, Ability Online cannot make you a member.

3. Ability Online has Limited Liability.

Ability Online is a small non-profit entity which provides the Service at no charge. Its ability to provide the Service is subject to its ability to limit its liability. If Ability Online could not, Ability Online would have to limit access and perhaps charge a fee. The Service is far from perfect and can fail from time to time. Unless you agree that the Service is provided "AS IS", without any representations or warranties whatsoever, and that Ability Online has no liability whatsoever for any damages you or anyone else may suffer as a result of using the Service, Ability Online cannot make you a member.

I AGREE THAT ABILITY ONLINE IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES AND THAT THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS".

PRINCIPAL RULES

While using the Service, you may not:

  • Restrict or inhibit any other user from using and enjoying the Service;
  • Post or transmit any unlawful, threatening, abusive, libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, profane, or otherwise objectionable information of any kind, including without limitation any transmission constituting or encouraging conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, give rise to civil litigation, or otherwise violate any law;
  • Post or transmit any information or software which contains a virus, worm, trojan horse, or other harmful component
  • Post, publish, transmit, reproduce, distribute or in any way exploit any information, software or other material obtained through the Service for commercial purposes (other than as expressly permitted by the provider of such information, software or other material); or
  • Upload, post, publish, transmit, reproduce, or distribute in any way, information, software or other material obtained through the Service which is protected by copyright, or other proprietary right, or derivative works with respect thereto, without obtaining permission of the copyright owner or rightholder.

PLEASE NOTE:

All messages (public and private) are filtered. Any message deemed inappropriate will be deleted.

Any misuse of the program will result in the cancellation of membership.
