Corporate Donations

There are a number of partnership and sponsorship opportunities, and our experienced staff will work with you to tailor alliances that are mutually beneficial.

Multi-year gifts are highly prized. They permit us to maintain our program most effectively, allowing us to plan for resources and program sustainability. There are a number of ways of recognizing our corporate partners with web, media and other forms of corporate exposure. For corporations who wish to donate over $100,000 annually for a minimum of two years, we also offer one position on our Board of Directors, where we welcome your participation in our planning and administration.

We have four principal tiers of donation. Each is named after a celebrated individual from history who made an exceptional contribution to the cause of philanthropy:

Nightingale Gift (annual donations in excess of $100,000)

Named after Florence Nightingale (1820-1910), who set a shining example for health care providers everywhere of compassion, commitment to patient care, and diligent and thoughtful hospital administration.

Addams Gift (annual donations of $50,000 to $99,999)

Named after Jane Addams (1860-1935) who is credited as the founder of social work. She was a member of the first generation of privileged women not required to work or marry in order to live well. Rather than taking it easy, Jane Addams devoted her life to social causes and activism.

Starr Gift (annual donations of $20,000 to $49,999)

Named after Cornelius Vander Starr (1892-1968), founder of AIG, the world's leading international insurance and financial services company. A forward thinker and global entrepreneur, he pioneered ventures in socialist countries such as China , Hungary , Poland and Romania . At his death, his entire estate went to establish the Starr Foundation, which makes grants in the fields of education, human needs, public policy, culture, healthcare, medicine and the environment.

Sage Gift (annual donations of $1,000 to $19,000)

Named after Margaret Olivia Sage (1828-1918), who in 1907 founded the Russell Sage Foundation, quite simply for "the improvement of social and living conditions". It still thrives today, devoted exclusively to strengthening the methods, data, and theoretical core of the social sciences as a means of improving social policies.
